is it possible to create something in GarageBand for Mac and share with someone using an iOS device so they can add to it and send it back?

Ok, here's the deal. I have a friend that is interested in collaborating on musical ideas through GarageBand. He has an iPad Pro (not sure 1st or 2nd gen). and I'm using a MacBook Pro or my iPhone 6+ or iPad Air 1st. Doesn't really matter which one I use because he can't open them with the iPad Pro, even if he sent it to me to start with. I'm only able to open what he sends from my MacBook as well so....

Is this possible? To use whatever device handy to add tracks and return, to added upon again and so on? You would think that these devices would be able to work with each other this way.

Thanks

GarageBand on an iOS device cannot open GarageBand for Mac projects, but a mac can open compatible GarageBand for iPhone/iPad projects.

So you could send your friend only the mixed audio files. Your friend would need to add the audio to the Music.app on the iPad Pro and then add new tracks to the mixed audio in GarageBand. It would be rather complicated, because you would have to merge the tracks your friend added into your original project on the MAc.
